What is the 2015 True Blue Scholarship Challenge?

An appeal to raise $300,000 from alumni and friends to help fund scholarships for Millikin students on April 29-May 1. During the challenge, each gift will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by an anonymous donor — up to $150,000. Even after the challenge ends, gifts in support of the Millikin Fund for Student Scholarships will always be accepted, since the need for scholarship support is a critical and annual need.

How can I give?

Send a check, make a pledge, give online now with a credit card, or text "Millikin" to 41444 to make a credit card gift with your smartphone.

Why should I give?

Did you receive a merit scholarship when you were a student? Were you a James Millikin Scholar? Or perhaps a Leighty Science, Long-Vanderburg, Service Learning or Presidential Scholar? If your answer is yes to any of these, scholarship donors helped make your education more affordable. Help current and future generations of students afford a Millikin education by giving to help fund their annual scholarship support. Some call it giving back and others call it paying it forward, but the end result is the same. You’re helping Millikin students achieve their dreams of completing their college education.

How much should I give?

Each dollar makes a difference, especially now when it is matched by the anonymous challenge. Gifts of any amount are appreciated.

How can I increase my gift’s impact?

You can double or triple the impact of your gift to MU if you or your spouse work for or are retired from a matching gift company. Check with your company’s personnel office to be sure.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, and we will acknowledge your gift with a written letter you can use for tax purposes.
